Inspired by Her Majesty the Queen's refined costume, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana's semi-couture collection is debuting on the world stage on September 29 - in fact it forms the opening show of Paris Fashion Week.

Princess Sirivannavari, the 20-year-old daughter of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, once told her production team - Pichitra Boonyarataphan and Kullawit Laosuksri - that her grandmother had encouraged her to build a sense of national identity into the traditional Thai costume.

- She was also interviewed by famous fashion journalists Marie-Ange Horlaville from France 3 television, and Viviane Blassel from TF1.

Asked by Blassel why she had chosen Paris Fashion Week to make her international debut, the Princess said: "As we all know, Paris is the capital of fashion. When one talks about fashion, one thinks of Paris. Moreover, Paris Fashion Week is the foremost fashion scene of the world. Definitely, I love Paris."

After her interaction with the media, Princess Sirivannavari returned to give the finishing touches to her show, checking details, clothes, hair and makeup, models and the sequence.

By evening, the Opera Garnier was crowded with around 200 VIPs and celebrities, including French Commerce and Industry Minister Christine Lagarde, famous French designer Yara Lapidus, Kenzo boutique's Kenzo Tanada, Benoit Louis Vuitton and French ambassador to Thailand Laurent Bili.

More than 400 people watched the show that was covered by about 200 journalists from some of the world's leading newspapers and magazines. The collection of 39 outfits started with a white cocktail dress in silk and tulle. The finale was a red silk cocktail dress embroidered with gold. When Princess Sirivannavari stepped on stage after the presentation, she was greeted by loud applause and her father, HRH the Crown Prince, presented her a big bouquet for her success.
